World renowned percussionist Kuniko Kato presents her seventh album with Linn Records. Following her debut album kuniko plays reich (2011) and Drumming (2018), Kuniko here unveils her third collection of Steve Reich compositions. Scheduled for global release on April 26, 2024, the highly anticipated album kuniko plays reich II features a diverse range of Reich's works spanning from the 1960s to the 2000s, showcasing variations in his compositional techniques. Kuniko carefully selected iconic Reich pieces that resonate with her artistic vision and performs Four Organs (1970), Nagoya Marimbas (1994), Mallet Quartet (2009) and her own arrangement of Piano Phase (1967) for two vibraphones. Kuniko Kato is one of the world’s leading percussion virtuosos from Japan. Her virtuosity, musical insight and expressive yet elegant performance style continue to attract not only audiences, but established conductors and composers too. She is renowned for her flawless technique when playing both keyboard and percussion instruments.
