Audun Halvorsen

Audun Halvorsen, born 1979, studied with Robert Rønnes, Eirik Birkeland and Knut Sønstevold, and Ole Kristian Dahl has been Audun’s coach and mentor since 2001.

Since 2006 he is Principal Bassoon in Danish National Symphony Orchestra in Copenhagen, a position he also held in NDR Sinfonieorchester, Hamburg (2010-2011), Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra (2005-2006) and in Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (2001-2007). As a guest principal, Audun has played with orchestras such as Luzerne Festival Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra etc.
Audun won the 1.prize in «Crussell Bassoon Competition» in Finland in 2003, and has visited many Chamber Music Festivals around. Audun is currently teaching bassoon at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, and has been giving Master Classes in many places in Europe and China.
Audun is playing a Heckel #15....-series.
