Yamaha offers a complete line of saxophones to suit every level of player from the beginning band student to the seasoned pro. Through the Yamaha ideology of 'vertical integration', the highest level Custom saxophone models are designed first, and elements of those models are carried down into the professional, intermediate, and even standard level saxophones. Custom Z
This has to be one of the most exciting things to happen to the sax world in modern times. Finally a modern sax that actually captures the sound and feel of those treasured classic saxes of the past - while adding state-of-the-art intonation and mechanism. Based on the scale of the classic '62' models, the new Custom Z saxes have bodies that are made of a special brass alloy for lighter weight, a great playing 'feel', and the kind of tonal flexibility you've always dreamed of. The Z plays evenly in all ranges, and gives you a huge dynamic range for as much - or as little - sound as you want. The Custom G1 neck helps produce a quick and agile response, while key action and placement feel just right. You can create whatever style tone you're after, from vintage to contemporary, and there's no need to sacriface comfort for sound. These horns literally 'have it all'.

Neck
The Custom G1 neck improves tonal projection and frees the upper register (a gold-plated G1 neck is optionally available).
Octave key
The octave key has a unique new ball joint design for smooter, quicker action.
Left-hand seesaw key
The left hand seesaw key has been redesigned to facilitate playability as well as feel more comfortable.
Bell brace
The bell/body brace features two-point contact for enhanced projection and a free-blowing response.
Neck strap ring
The neck strap ring is oversize to accommodate a variety of hook sizes.
Case
The Z saxes come in a slim ultralightweight cases which provide excellent protection. A convenient shoulder strap is also included.
