Alto Saxophone Ligatures
A ligature is used to secure the reed to the mouthpiece of a saxophone. A reed must be properly attached. The reed must be able to vibrate, that’s how it makes a sound. The way a reed is attached makes a difference to the sound of your alto saxophone. For saxophones there are generally 2 types of ligatures; ones made out of fabric or ones made of metal. At Adams we have a wide collection of ligatures and we are happy to help you choose the most suitable ligature for your alto saxophone. You can see exactly where the ligatures are and you can always make an appointment to come and test them.
