Miriam Pastor Burgos
Born in Cartagena, Spain, Miriam Pastor Burgos is Principal Cor Anglais of Concertgebouworkest since 2012, and Teacher at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam since 2015.
She studied oboe with Francisco Valero at the Murcia Conservatory from 2003 to 2007. She went on to study in Berlin with Dominik Wollenweber at the Hans Eisler Hochschule für Musik, from 2007 to 2012.
She gained orchestral experience as a member of the Karajan Academy, the Orchestra Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, and was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
In Berlin, Miriam Pastor Burgos was Principal Cor Anglais at the Konzerthausorchester (2010- 2011) and Principal Oboist at the Komische Oper (2011-2012).
Between 2009 and 2019, she was member of Orchestra Mozart under Claudio Abbado and Bernard Haitink.
She colaborates with Luzerne Festival Orchestra since 2016.
The season 2021/22, Miriam was Principal Oboe in Orchestre de Paris.
Since 2013 Miriam plays a cor anglais built by Marigaux Paris, from the collection of the Foundation Concertgebouworkest. In addition, she also received a hobo from Marigaux in 2019. She is happy with her Bucher reedmaking machine to make reeds faster and more accurate.
