Sandor Hendriks
Sandor Hendriks (1974) started in the Reutje as a bugle player with the fanfare St. Wiro. He exchanged this instrument for the trombone at the age of 13, where he obtained various diplomas at the KREATO institute. After completing the VOCO training (1992) at the Jeanned'Arc College in Maastricht, Sandor continued his studies at the Maastricht Conservatory.
Here he studied Trombone with Mr.J.Banens (former solo trombonist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra). After obtaining his bachelor's degree (1997) he continued his Master study at the Musikhochschule Aachen with Mr.H.Ries (former solo trombonist of the sinfonie orchestra of the Westdeutsche Rundfunk in Cologne), where he graduated cum laude in 2000.
During his Master study Sandor worked in the 1998-1999 season at the Duisburger Sinfonikern – Deutsche Oper am Rhein. During his studies he also replaced in various professional orchestras and in 1997 he was invited to the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival Orchester.
Since September 1999, Sandor has been affiliated with the South Netherlands Philharmonic, a merger (2012) between the former Limburgs Symfonie Orkest and Het Brabants Orkest. In addition to this permanent employment, Sandor is also active in chamber music.
For example, since 2000 he has been conductor and founder of the “Limburgs Trombone Ensemble”, plays with his fellow students in the Limburg brass quintet “Southern Brass” and was a member of the renowned large brass ensemble “Flexible Brass” for many years.
As of the 2018-2019 school year, Sandor is a teacher Trombone Methodology at the Maastricht Conservatory, where he is also a coach of the trombone class. In addition to these activities, Sandor is also a teacher and coach at Harmonie, Fanfare and Brass Band orchestras.
