Zhou Ji
Zhou Ji, male, 39 years old, graduated from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music in China with a major in Trombone Performance. He is a National Grade Three Performer.
Zhou Ji's Adams Gear
He began learning the trombone at a young age under the guidance of Mr. Li Wei, a renowned trombonist from the Shanxi Symphony Orchestra. In 2005, he was admitted to the Orchestral Department of the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, where he studied under Professor Sun Jing. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2009. In May of the same year, he held a personal trombone recital. In September, he joined the Sichuan Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra as the Associate Principal Trombonist. That same year, he also served as an external low brass instructor for the Sichuan University Wind Orchestra.
In 2010, he won the third prize in the trombone category at the 8th National Wind and Chamber Music Competition. In 2011, representing Sichuan University, he participated in the 6th Sichuan Provincial College Student Art Festival and won first prize in the instrumental music category, as well as the Outstanding Instructor Award. In 2012, he served as an external trombone instructor at the Shanxi Vocational College of Art.
In 2013, he joined the Shanxi Symphony Orchestra as the Principal Trombonist, a position he holds to this day. In 2022, he became an external low brass instructor for the Orchestral Department of the Shanxi Normal University College of Music.
In 2024, he served as a judge for the first Shaanxi Provincial Low Brass Art Festival Competition and as a judge for the Taiyuan division of the 11th Melbourne International Music Competition. He is also the President of the Low Brass Professional Committee of the Shanxi Wind Music Association and the Director of the Yikeshu Low Brass Ensemble.
Additionally, he serves as an external low brass instructor for wind orchestras at several key primary and secondary schools in Taiyuan. Under his guidance, students have repeatedly won awards in provincial and national professional competitions, and many have been admitted to key universities and secondary schools both within and outside the province.
