Juan Lois Dieguez
Juan Lois Diégez was born in Agolada, Galicia, in 1980. Composer, conductor and trumpet player, he studied in Conservatorio Superior de Vigo, in Escuela Práctica Orquestal de la Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and in Escuela de Altos Estudios Musicales de Galicia.
He took lessons from the following professors: John Aigi Hürn, Stanley Curtis, Javier Viceiro Filgueira, Javier Simó Echarte, Antonio Cambres Rodríguez, Benjamín Moreno, José Mª Ortí Soriano, Eric Aubier.
He Works as a professor in Escuelas de geografía galled and in Escuela Profesional de Viana do Castelo (Portugal).
He has collaborated with many bands and galician orchestras as well as with Principado de Asturias Young Symphonic Orchestra, Galicia Young Symphonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra (making a tour in Spain, Morocco and Portugal) and with Galicia Royal Philarmonic, in which he was co-principal trumpet for two years.
He studied direction and instrumentation with Masters as Marcel van Bree, Javier Viceiro Filgueira, Óscar Navarro, José Rafael Pascual-Vilaplana, Jan Cober, Jan Van der Roost, Hardy Mertens, Bert Appermont.
He has been principal conductor of many amateur bands obtaining awards in different contests, as well as Banda Municipal de Pontevedra. In 2010, he was elected as assistant conductor of Banda Municipal de Barcelona. Juan combines today his labor as instrumentalist Pofessor in Banda Municipal de Santiago de Compostela with the principal conductor of Banda and Escuela de Música de Salceda de Caselas, and the Galicia Brass Band.
