In search of an instrument that would allow me, as a tubist, to immediately switch from tuba to euphonium, with perfect response, intonation and flexibility, and without the need for long warm-ups or adjustment, I came across the Adams Euphonium.
This instrument offers:
• Excellent intonation across all registers, without a trigger
• Very good response
• Adjustable airflow resistance thanks to the standard “GAP”
• It can sound soft and bright, but also sharp and biting
• A focused sound both in piano and fortissimo
The most convincing aspect, however, was that this instrument matches the sound of my F, B? and C tubas.
It inspires me to play more than just the usual orchestral excerpts on it.
Bravo to Miel Adams and his team for this achievement, I believe we will hear much more about this instrument in the future.
