Adams Carbon Trigger System
The Adams Carbon Trigger System offers an unparalleled smooth trigger action and a significant improvement in sound quality. Thanks to the use of carbon fibre, we can integrate the trigger legs more precisely into the instrument, minimizing air loss while ensuring smoother trigger movement than ever before. In an already maximally resonant instrument, this new system eliminates the possibility of this resonance affecting the trigger mechanism. Combined with less friction, the result is effortless playability, more easily centered notes, and an enriched overtone spectrum. After years of research and countless play-tests, this innovative trigger system is now available for you.
Testimonials
"The new trigger system from Adams is a real game-changer, offering a fast, smooth response and enhancing the tonal flow of the instrument. It also improves maintenance, showing that Adams never stops pushing to create the best possible instruments."
Mauro Martins, international euphonium soloist
"On a recent trip to Ittervoort to work with Miel Adams, we worked on the trigger reaction and lightness. One of our tests was to make the main tuning slide legs from carbon fibre, which worked excellently well, and also gave us a pleasant surprise. The sound of the instrument, the centring of the notes, and its overtones was also enhanced, making this a real step forward for the brand. Always innovating!"
Gary Curtin, euphonium soloist at Foden's Band
"The new carbon slide legs take the use of a trigger on an Adams Euphonium to the next level. Smooth, positive and ultra slick action, just what I’ve been waiting for all these years."
Glyn Williams, euphonium soloist of The Cory Band
The innovation behind the perfect trigger action
At Adams Musical Instruments, we continuously strive for perfection, down to the finest details. When we examined our trigger system closely, we saw room for improvement. The traditional system, where an inner tube slides within an outer tube, requires a delicate balance: the tubes must be tight enough to prevent air loss, but smooth enough to move effortlessly. Too tight, and the action becomes restricted; too loose, and air leakage compromises sound quality.
Adams sought to break this compromise. Traditionally, lubricants are used to improve the movement of metal-on-metal components and prevent wear. However, even with the best lubrication, metal resonance can cause subtle vibrations and noise, affecting tonal purity. Our instruments are designed to resonate fully, enhancing sound quality, making the challenge of maintaining a smooth trigger action even greater.
After years of development and rigorous testing, we are proud to introduce our latest system: carbon trigger-legs. This groundbreaking, patent-pending design offers an ultra-smooth trigger action with minimal air loss.
Essential extra tonal benefits
In blind tests with our artists, we not only discovered that the trigger worked smoothly and reliably, but also that the system brought significant improvements in the overtone spectrum. Musicians noted better note centring and a richer, clearer sound.
This patent-pending system represents a major leap forward in our ongoing pursuit of innovation and perfection. It not only enhances the playing experience but also contributes to the unrivalled sound quality that Adams Musical Instruments is renowned for.
