Adams Musical Instruments - Together in Music

Philzuid is an ambitious and flexible symphony orchestra that is praised for its quality, close interplay and enthusiasm.

The orchestra is under the artistic and business direction of Stefan Rosu. The enthusiastic members of the orchestra deliver custom work at the highest artistic level.
Chief conductor is Dmitri Liss, who has been embraced by the press and the public and praised as a "race performer of caliber" for his "theatricality and stillness".
With music ranging from Bach's St Matthew Passion to world premieres by contemporary composers, the orchestra literally performs the complete symphonic music literature. For this, we collaborate with trusted and new guest conductors and soloists.

Innovation, cross-overs, across the border and ties with the region.

Characteristic of philharmonie zuidnederland is the great attention to innovation with adventurous crossover programs such as West Side Story, Film with Live Orchestra, Opera on the Parade and I-classics.
With these projects, the orchestra explores the limits of traditional orchestral presentation, but at the same time presents itself as the orchestra of the 21st century. The southern Netherlands philharmonic also makes itself heard across the border. The first concert trip to France took place in 2017 and from 2018 the orchestra is bringing two of the five concerts from the Meisterkonzerte Aachen series to Aachen.
The connection with the region remains important for the southern Netherlands philharmonic. Although the ambition of the southern Netherlands philharmonic is to develop into one of the most prominent orchestras in the Netherlands and also to play at an international level, the orchestra will never lose sight of the fact that it primarily exists for the inhabitants of Limburg , Brabant and Zeeland.
Every season there is of course a lot of room for activities that affect the music experience in the region such as Limburg Christmas, the Liberation Concert in Margraten, the St Matthew Passion and of course the New Year's and Carnival concerts.
