Mario Torrijo
He was born in Lliria, Valencia, where he started his musical studies in Ateneo Musical and Banda Primitiva de Lliria.
He gets the prize end of professional degree in Valencia, and superior degree in Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid with Miguel Moreno. After his graduation he moves to Perpignan, where he studies with Professor Mel Culberston, obtaining the postgraduate degree Gold Medal.
He has been a member of Spain and Cataluña Young Orchestras, has collaborated with the Bilbao Symphonic Orchestra, Comunidad de Madrid Orchestra, Castilla y León Symphonic Orchestra, Córdoba Orchestra, Ciudad de Granada Orchestra. He is regularly invited as Professor in Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Mundial as well as in Valencia Young Orchestra.
Since 2008, he works with percussionist Raúl Benavente in Tupami duo, performing contemporary music and innovating creating new artistic expressions ways for tuba and percussion.
Today, he is a tuba Professor and Chamber music in Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, and tuba soloist in Spanish Radio Television Symphonic Orchestra.
