Qi Qi

Qi Qi, a young teacher of western percussion music major in the Orchestral Department of Wuhan Conservatory of Music, graduated from Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music in Germany with a master's degree in western percussion music performance.

From the age of 4, I began to perform percussion solo on stage. From 1995 to 1997, I was invited to participate in the cultural exchange tour of Tianjin Xiaohongqi Art Troupe to Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, etc. In 1999, I was invited to participate in the "Musician Stage" gala jointly held by China, Austria, Germany and Switzerland at the front gate of the Forbidden City in Beijing. In the same year, I was invited to hold solo concerts in Germany, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg. In 2000, I participated in CCTV Spring Festival gala. 

In 2000, I was admitted to the affiliated high school of the Central Conservatory of Music with the top ranking and studied western percussion music from Professor Zhao Ji, a famous educator in western percussion music. In 2008, I was admitted to Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität, Austria to learn western percussion music from Prof. Josef Gumpinger, Leohard Schmidinger and Bogdan Bacanu. In 2014, I was admitted to Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music in Germany to further his studies where I learned from Prof. Isao Nakamura, Thomas Hoefs and Jochen Brenner. 

During my study in Europe, I was invited to attend a concert by Wolfgang Rihm, a famous composer, and to participate in the performance by Brass Surround, a brass music emsemble, in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, etc. In 2016, I recorded the CD “BrassSurround 10.3”. In 2015. I attended the concert at the opening ceremony of the music week celebration in 2015 to commemorate the 80th birthday of Helmut Lachenmann, a famous contemporary composer together with the Southwest Radio Symphony Orchestra of Germany. From 2015 to 2016, I was invited to participate in the performance by Germany's Stuttgart Opera Symphony Orchestra and Germany's Rhineland Faz National Philharmonic Orchestra.
