Roy van Lent
At age five, Roy van Lent (’s-Hertogenbosch (NL), 1986) started an education as a percussionist. But after ten years he decided to switch to wind instruments. After playing the saxophone, trombone and euphonium he ended up with playing the trumpet.
After secondary school he continued his study at the University of Utrecht where he studied musicology. Meanwhile, at the conservatory of Utrecht he also started taking lessons with trumpet teacher Arto Hoornweg (NL). After that he continued his study as a lead-trumpet player at the conservatory of Tilburg with trumpet teachers Martijn de Laat (NL) and Toon de Gouw (NL). During and after his study, Roy also studied with other great trumpet teachers at several masterclasses en private lessons.
Nowadays Roy is affiliated with the Brabants Jazz Orchestra (NL) as lead-trumpet player and pop band Es5.
