Fabien Enger

Fabien Enger is a French trumpeter and composer whose work bridges contemporary jazz and improvised music.

Active between Europe and the United States, he has quickly established himself as a distinctive voice of his generation. A Fulbright Scholar (2022) and recipient of the Arnaud Roujou de Boubée Prize (2023), Fabien Enger earned a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2024. There, he studied with leading figures of the American jazz scene, such as Terell Stafford, John Swana, Tim Warfield, and Justin Faulkner, an experience that deeply shaped his artistic identity.

As both a bandleader and sideman, Fabien Enger has performed alongside internationally acclaimed artists including Immanuel Wilkins, David Murray, Sumi Tonooka, Robin Eubanks, Chad Taylor, Pheeroan akLaff, Bobby Zankel, Nazir Ebo, Shakoor Hakeem, and María Grand, among others.

His work has received international recognition through awards, grants, and residencies in major cultural centers such as Chicago and New Orleans. He has performed extensively across the United States and Europe, developing a presence beyond the traditional East Coast jazz circuit. In 2021, he was selected for the inaugural Footprints Europe program in Lodz, Poland, performing at Klub Wytwornia as part of the International Jazz Platform. In 2022, he won the Inner Urge Music Competition in Italy and was awarded Outstanding Musicianship at the Umbria Jazz Festival through the Berklee College of Music Clinics.

In November 2024, Fabien Enger released his debut album, Off the Seabed, recorded in Philadelphia in duo with pianist Justin Griggs, on the Italian label Inner Urge Records.
