De LefreQue’s are made from a number of different materials. Below you can find the properties of each material, the information is sorted in an ascending order. Every LefreQue has its own properties and the more precious the metal, the bigger the effect becomes. When in doubt you are more than welcome to try out our collection of LefreQue’s at one of our locations. Contact us for the availability of our LefreQue products. As a rule of thumb that is given by LefreQue is that the material of the sound bridge has to be at least the same or higher than the instrument for which it is meant. For wood instruments the best result will be achieved with a solid silver or higher material.

Brass

Red Brass

Rounder Sound, a lot of core and a fast response.

Red Brass, Silver Plated

Rounder Sound, a lot of core and a fast response. The silver plating creates sparkling overtones.

Red Brass, Gold Plated

Rounder Sound, a lot of core and a fast response. The gold plating, normal and rosé, creates richer and warmer overtones.

Solid Silver

Pure, warm sound with a great number of overtones. More mass, speed, sparkling and a heightened flexibility in dynamics.

Solid Silver, Gold plated

Pure, warm sound with a great number of overtones. More mass, speed, sparkling and a heightened flexibility in dynamics. The gold plating, normal and rosé, creates richer and warmer overtones.

Solid Gold

This is the superlative of the Solid Silver: Incomparably pure and warm sound. Indescribable overtones. The purer the gold the greater the effect.

Platinum

This is the superlative of the Solid Gold: A pure and warm sound that is absolutely unparalleled. Indescribable overtones.

Recommended dimensions

The LefreQue has been developed universally, nevertheless there are a number of recommended combinations for each instrument. Below you can find the recommended combinations. These combinations are derived from years’ worth of research and the physical dimensions of each instrument.

Tuba

The tuba has one connection that could be improved with a LefreQue: Between the mouthpiece and the leadpipe. The 41mm, the 76mm or the 106mm LefreQue with two 55mm bands is recommended for the tuba.
