Downtown House

Downtown House is a tourist accommodation with the classification of Emblematic House. It has been remodeled in 2014, preserving and respecting its original charm. It has also been adapted for the new traveler of the 21st century. The house is located on the first floor of a building protected by the Historical Heritage of the Canaries. It was built in 1922 by the architect Fernando Navarro, author also of the Gabinete Literario building. It is situated at Domingo J. Navarro street, 10 in a pedestrian area, next to San Telmo´s Park and only 40 meters away from Triana Street, which is the main commercial area of the city. Where you can walk, go shopping and enjoy many terraces, cafes and restaurants. If you want, you can lose yourself in the old quarter of Vegueta with its labyrinthine streets and visit its plazas, churches, museums and theaters. At night, you can enjoy savories, wines and beers in a great atmosphere, especially on Thursdays. On Sunday morning in the back of the Cathedral a handicrafts, food and pastries market is set up. You can also enjoy some Canarian folklore. Central Bus Station of San Telmo (also known as “Estación de Guaguas”) is just two minutes walking and connects the whole island: the airport, the port and all corners of the city. If you prefer, we can rent you a bike for cycling through the Maritime Avenue and get to Las Canteras beach easily. Or enjoy the best fresh fish in the seaside district of San Cristobal. The first Sunday of each month, all shops and restaurants in the area of Triana-Vegueta are open.
