Ruth Legelli

Ruth Legelli is principal Flutist of the Düsseldorf Symphoniker / Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein

Ruth Legelli was born on January 1, 1967 in Freiburg im Breisgau.

She attended the Freie Waldorfschule Freiburg St. Georgen from 1973 to 85.

From 1986 - 1990, she studied flute with Ruth Wentorf at the MHS Freiburg in the course of orchestral and instrumental studies. She graduated with a diploma in 1990.

This was followed by a concert rehearsal at the MHS Zurich with Günter Rumpel and in 1993 the concert re-diploma with distinction.

She then continued her studies at Aurèle Nicolet in Basel for two years.

Meanwhile, she successfully participated in international competitions, e.g. Music competition Geneva, music competition of ARD Munich, flute competition Szeged / Hungary u.a ..

After an orchestral practice in the symphony orchestra of the city of Biel / CH (1995 -96), she became the first soloist of the Düsseldorf Symphonic Orchestra in 1996.

From 2000-2014 she had a lecture position for flute at the Folkwanghochschule Essen.

Since 2000 she has been intensively engaged with the baroque flute and the romantic flute.
