She especially enjoys working in the field of contemporary music and commissioned some new works for flute and piano from a wide range of successful international composers. She premiered her New Music Project „Metamorphoses“ at the European Flute Festival 2010 in Munich. She also is a writer for "Flute Talk" and "Flöte Aktuell" and has published essays  in "Contemporary Music Review"
Last year, she presented on Mozart at the ADAMS Flute festival. While talent research combined with biographical writings from Mozart’s time was her focus then, this year’s lecture on Telemann will show the development of creativity in a master composer.

Petra plays flutes by Altus (bass, alto- and 945 silver flute), Bernhard Hammig (9K), Philipp Hammig (Piccolo)  and a couterbass flute by Jupiter.
She enjoys her Mancke and Lafin Headjoints.
