Paolo Taballione

Paolo Taballione was born in Rome in 1981. After graduating from the Conservatory "S. Cecilia" in Rome with the highest grade and 'summa cum laude' in the class of Prof. G. Schiavone in 2001, he completed his studies in Switzerland at the "Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Genève" in the class of Prof. J. Zoon, where he received the Diplôme de Soliste "avec Distinction" by unanimous decision in 2007.

 In addition to his intensive study of the flute, since 1998 he has studied piano, harmony and composition, a discipline in which he completed his studies with distinction in the class of Maestro F. Carotenuto at the Conservatory "S. Cecilia" in Rome in 2008.
His repertoire, from baroque to contemporary music, has made him a winner of numerous national and international solo competitions since his youth, including the first prize at the International Competition for Music of the
Twentieth and Twenty-First Centuries for Flute and Piccolo "V.Bucchi" in 2004 and the first prize by unanimous decision at the International Solo Competition "D. Cimarosa" with M. Larrieu as president of the jury in 2005, in 2004 he was selected by M° Riccardo Muti as solo flutist of the Youth Symphony Orchestra "L. Cherubini", composed of the best Italian young musicians, and in 2005, still under the direction of Riccardo Muti, he began his career as soloist with great critical success: "Paolo Taballione, an admirable flutist! (Il Giornale).
From then on, his intensive activities as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician took him to the most important European concert halls. In addition to his invitations to recitals, concerts and master classes at many international musical institutions, he records as a soloist for the most important radio stations in Germany and Italy.
From 2006 to 2008 he was solo flutist in the orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Zubin Mehta and in 2008 he became solo flutist of the "Bayerische Staatsoper" in Munich. It is performed by orchestras such as the Milan Scala Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, the Munich Philharmonic, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the NDR Symphony Orchestra Hamburg, the Zurich Opera House Orchestra, of the Dresden Philharmonic as solo flutist under the direction of conductors such as Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Kent Nagano, Seiji Ozawa,
Yury Temirkanov, Daniel Harding, Kirill Petrenko, and regularly collaborates with the most important soloists of the international music scene.
