Martine van der Loo

Martine van der Loo is principal flutist at the Residentie Orkest in The Hague.
She also has her own "Practice for Musicians" as a psychologist.
During the Bassoon Festival she gives a workshop "Mental Training" in which she learns participants to deal with performance anxiety and stage fright.

Martine van der Loo (1963) studied flute with Abbie de Quant at the Utrecht Conservatory, where she obtained the solo diploma with distinction.

Martine started her career during her studies as principal flautist at the Dutch Chamber Orchestra. For eight years she has been a solo flutist with the Radio Symphony Orchestra and since 1995 she is principal flutist with the Residentie Orchestra in The Hague.

In addition, Martine van der Loo is a psychologist NIP / health psychologist.

She has her own 'Practice for musicians' in The Hague, in which she focuses on the mental guidance of musicians, especially from conservatory students. Her goal is to support musicians to perform optimally at the moments that are at stake.

Learning to deal with stage fright is an important part of her workshop Stage Performance.

As a psychologist, Martine is in the unique position that she herself is a performing musician.
