David Moliner Andrés

David Moliner Andrés was born on May 23, 1991. Spanish musician, and a multi-faceted artist, percussion soloist and composer.

His compositional aesthetics are centered on the exploitation of drama, the musician as expressive; an area of avant-garde creation that stands out mainly in Berlin and Paris.

He studied composition and percussion in HEM Geneva and UdK Berlín and he resides between Madrid and Berlín.

As a composer some important commissions are: Lorelai Dowling, (member of the Klangforum de Wien), Pierre Strauch (member of the Ensemble Intercontemporain of Paris) and Christian Dierstein, member of Ensemble Reserché in Freiburg); Ensemble 20/21 of the JORCAM, in the “Teatros del Canal” (Madrid) and the “Mostra Sonora de Sueca” (Valencia) 2016, with Jordi Francés. Other commissions were the director Michel Spotti, (pupil of Ricardo Mutti). He has also been invited and programmed by ESPAI SONOR, together with the music of Héctor Parra, Olga Neuwrith, Voro García, Alberto Posadas, Aureliano Cattaneo ... concerts in Bilbao, (festival of BBVA), and Valencia (ENSEMS festival). International Festival, Music Congress of Porto, (Essenz Duo), Carlos Tena and Maria Dolores Revilla. Mexico Arts Festival, (Contemporary Music Sax) Bern.

As a percussionist / freelance artist he has given numerous recitals and shows all over Europe with works by José Luís López López, Jesús Torres, Iannis Xennakis, J.S. Bach, F.Sarhan, F.Mache, Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Manoury, Karlheinz Stockhausen and Bruno Mantovani among others, and the author himself. He has premiered some works of: P. Berardinelli and M.Beil. He has won several prizes, such as the Composition Prize Dávalos Fletcher, III Prize for music and composition Moros d’Alqueria, Vibraphone International Italy Competition, STIPENDIUM-PRIZE UNIVERSITÄT DER KÜNSTE BERLIN (2016) and he has played in some important concert halls such as: Philarmonie Berlín, Elbphilarmonie Hamburg, KKL Lucern, Kleiner Saal München, and Philarmonie París.

He has been well appreciated by musicians such as: Arditti String Quartet, Ensemble Recherche, Michael Jarrell, Frank Bedrossiaen, Pascal Dusapin, Elena Mendoza, Klanfgorum Wien, Intercontemporain Ensemble, Miquel Bernat, Daniel Barenboim and musicians of the Berliner Philarmoniker, among others.

As a percussionist/ freelance composer he has given some masterclasses in: Centro Superior Musikene-San Sebastián and Hochschule für Musik und Theater München.

His works are published by the publisher of Paris BabelScores. He is professor of composition at Centro Superior Progreso Musical Madrid and professor of Dramatic Art applied to the soloist percussion performance at Centro Superior “Katarina Gurska” of Madrid.
