Yamaha offers a complete line of saxophones to suit every level of player from the beginning band student to the seasoned pro. Recommended by band directors across the nation, Yamaha intermediate saxophones provide high-quality yet value-conscious features that make the transition from beginner saxophones comfortable and enjoyable for the growing saxophonist. Developed through the Yamaha ideology of 'vertical integration', many of the design features found on Yamaha intermediate saxophones were adopted from top level Custom saxophones, offering professional features at an intermediate price.

YTS-480
The YTS-480 intermediate tenor saxophone delivers professional qualities at an intermediate price. Through the Yamaha ideology of 'vertical integration', many of the design features were adopted from top-level Custom EX saxophones, offering outstanding response, tone and intonation.
With a design influenced by high-end Yamaha saxophones, the YTS-480 features highly accurate intonation, a warm tone and a quick response. It is lightweight yet durable, and comes with a professional-quality 62-style neck for a more mature quality of sound.
Professional Style Neck
A neck based on the original YTS-62 professional saxophone neck is designed for improved tone and response.
Hand engraving
A hand-engraved pattern on the bell adds an extra touch of class.
Compatible with Yamaha Custom Necks
The redesigned octave key system gives players the flexibility to choose between the included 62 style neck and those designed for the Custom Z and Custom EX Yamaha saxophones (sold separately).
Key guard
The separate key guards feature adjustable screw cap stoppers for professional-style technical adjustments.
Left-hand seesaw key
The left-hand seesaw key has been designed to increase playability as well as provide a more comfortable feel.
Improved Low B-C# connection
An improved mechanism from low B-C# ensures the consistent closing of the low C# key and promotes a clear response from notes in the low range of the instrument.
Backpack-style Case
