Workshop New Sound Worlds
In this unique workshop, led by Matthias Ziegler, you will learn to discover new sound worlds on your flute. By means of improvisation methods you will look for the boundaries of your sound world and learn to broaden and push these.
key to your new sound world, the first approach to contemporary music very often focuses on "Extended Techniques" This group workshop brings new creativity into your practice space and develops a method for improving contemporary playing techniques through experimentation and improvisation - through the 'why' to discover before the 'how' is identified. Understanding the improvisational aspects of creation helps to broaden the concepts of interpretation for many genres of music. Matthias Ziegler is a professor of flute and improvisation at the Zurich University of the Arts. His search for new sounds has greatly increased the expressive potential of the traditional flute and the electro-acoustically amplified double bass.
