The brand/company Selmer was founded in 1885 when Henri Selmer began making reeds, mouthpieces and clarinets in Paris, his brother Alexandre Selmer moved to America to play at the Boston Symphony as clarinettist. In 1909 he opened a shop in New York to sell the products of the family, and started playing at the New York Philharmonic. Selmer is known for its woodwind instruments, clarinets, oboes, bassoons and saxophones. These instruments are all available in our shop.
