Miriam Nastasi

Mirjam Nastasi was born in Utrecht , where she studied flute and musicology . She finalized her flute studies in Freiburg with Aurèle Nicolet . In addition to her interest in contemporary music, she was also interested early music and Traverso (including with Frans Vester , Frans Brüggen , Bob van Asperen and Michael Schneider ) . She plays in many chamber music ensembles and performed at numerous festivals . Master classes in Italy , Germany , Belgium , Luxembourg , Austria and Poland . Among many other publications, she is editor of the "Die Soloflöte " series ( Peters Verlag ) with known and unknown solo pieces from Hottetere to Berio . They also provided publications and courses in the field of musical rhetoric . Mariam Nastasi taught at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague , at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt and at the University of Mainz. Since 1991 she is professor of flute at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg , where she was from 1996 to 2006, also recktorin .
