Alexander Krimer

Oboist Alexander Krimer is member of the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest since 1 February 2020.

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Alexander Krimer grew up in Germany. He started playing the Oboe at the age of ten, taking lessons with Heinrich Kreipl in Bonn. He studied with Diethelm Jonas at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and with Jacques Tys at the Conservatoire national supérieur in Paris, and continued his studies with Nick Deutsch at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy in Leipzig.

Alexander Krimer participated in masterclasses with pedagogues such as Maurice Bourgue, Hans Jörg Schellenberger, Albrecht Mayer, Stefan Schilli, Nick Deutsch, Dudu Carmel, Ivan Podyomov, Alexei Ogrintchouck, and Matthias Bäcker. He was also taught by Heinz Holliger and François Leleux. He gained orchestra experience in the Bundesjugendorchester and the Landesjugendensemble New Music. In 2019 he was principal oboist of the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan.

Besides his activities as a chamber and orchestra musician, he performed as a soloist with the Bergische Symphoniker, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Silesian Philharmonic. Alexander Krimer won a number of competitions both as an oboist and a pianist. The most recent addition is the first prize of the North International Competition 2019 in Sweden.
