Robert C. Kelly
Mr. Kelly, a New York native, has received his formal training with Ronald Gould, the Principal Percussionist of the New York City Ballet Orchestra. He received his BM from The Hartt School of Music while studying with Alexander Lepak, and holds an MA from New York University while studying with Jonathan Haas. Mr. Kelly has also served as Percussion faculty at NYU.
He has collaborated and performed with a diverse and stellar list of ensembles and musicians such as The Philadelphia Virtuosi, Royal Swedish Ballet, New York Symphonic Arts Ensemble, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Sori Ensemble, Jordi Savall & le Concert des Nations, The International Contemporary Music Festival. Invited/guest percussionist to perform the 2010 full production of 'Turandot' with The China NCPA Orchestra and the Korea National Opera at the Seoul Opera House. Has worked with conductors and composers such as Ilan Volkov, Bartolomeo Ferrara, Harold Farberman, Gunther Schuller, Tania Leon, Chung Myung Whun, Li Xin cao and James Sedares. Performances with Internationally renown soloists such as David Jolley, Navah Perlman, Gil Shaham and Eduardus Halim.
Mr. Kelly was invited and featured Artist for the Opening Ceremony of the III Delphic World Games of 2009 held in Jeju Island. In part to the Tongyeong International Music Festival 2012 Mr. Kelly performed with the Munich Chamber Orchestra under Maestro Alexander Liebreich. He has toured the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea and Japan. He has appeared on the leading Korean broadcast networks KBS Radio, TJB T.V. SBS T.V., Gangnam Cable T.V.(Jazz Park Series) & KBS TV. Concerts performed in notable venues as diverse as: Seoul Arts Center, Tokyo City Opera Hall (in Asia). The Ronacher, The Bellini Theatre, The Folies Bergere (in Europe). And Carnegie Hall - Main stage and recital hall, and the Blue Note (in the United States).
