Configure your own Adams trombone

Some people like a warmer sound. Some do not. Some people have huge lung capacity. Some do not. Some people need more playing resistance. Some do not. These are extremely personal factors that can affect an instruments design.

The Adams instrument builders like to go beyond expectations. With an in-house development and production, this means that we can fully customize your instrument according to your personal preferences.

Besides the standard configuration, Adams trombones offer a number of custom adjustments including different bells and slides to meet your personal playing style.

Bell materials

Every Adams instrument features a unique, hand-hammered bell crafted from yellow brass, gold brass, or sterling silver. Each material offers its own distinctive character, carefully made to provide musicians with a range of expressive possibilities.

Yellow Brass

A yellow brass bell is always a smart choice. As the most common material used in brass instruments, it responds directly and delivers a consistent, refined sound that suits a wide range of players.

Gold Brass

A gold brass bell colors the sound with ease and mixes beautifully, a quality many musicians value. Often chosen as the ideal middle ground between yellow brass and red brass, gold brass contains approximately 85% copper, providing a balance of warmth and projection. It adds depth to the sound, making it smooth, deep, and dark.

Red Brass

Our red brass bell delivers a larger, warmer sound compared to yellow or gold brass, making it an excellent choice for more powerful orchestral playing. Composed of approximately 90% copper, its rich tone provides greater depth and presence, ideal for musicians seeking a fuller, more resonant sound.

Sterling Silver

This bell offers a very rich and elegant sound with a more complex character compared to other materials. When played softly, it delivers a warm and thick tone, while at higher volumes, it opens up beautifully, becoming rich in overtones and adding a sparkling brilliance.

Its precise nature makes articulation easier, making it an excellent choice for soloists. While this material truly shines in the hands of experienced players, it offers rewarding nuances that can inspire musicians at any level to explore its full potential.

Slides

All Adams slides have chrome plated nickel silver inner slides to guarantee the best possible hand-slide action. To get an instrument that fully meets your personal expectations, we offer a variety of slide options.

Yellow brass offers a lively, and centered tone. Nickel silver is known for its broader and more powerful playing character. The lightweight slides ad a bit of energetic response and brilliance to the tone.
