Olga Ivusheikova

Olga Ivusheikova is one of the leading flute professors in Russia, and we are very excited to have her on board of the 15th Flute Festival!

Olga Ivusheikova is a renowned flautist and professor at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory with an international reputation for her brilliant interpretation of the classical and the transverse flute repertoires and as a soloist in live performances and recordings. Olga is increasingly in demand for her highly regarded teaching methodologies in master classes both at home in Russia, and internationally where her students have achieved notable successes.

She began her music training aged seven at Moscow’s elite Gnessin Music College with Professors Korneev and Mironovich before attending the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Professor Yury Dolzhikov.

Olga’s extensive teaching experience began at Moscow’s Tchaikovsky Conservatory where she became an associate professor in 2006 and includes Gnessin Music College since 2002 and 2011-2012 professor at Kurashiki Sakuyo University in Japan. She has wide experience as a Jurist in flute competitions where her master classes have been much in demand at Adams Flute festival, the Netherlands; Forum Flute Piano Diekirch, Luxemburg; Royal Conservatoire, the Hague, the Netherlands; St. Petersburg conservatoire, Russia; Nicolet Flute Competition, Guangzhou, China;
Novosibirsk conservatoire, Russia and Yamaha music centrum, Osaka, Japan.

In 2003-2005 she studied baroque flute and early music in Leipzig, Germany in University of Music & Theatre Felix Mendelson Bartholdy (pr. B.Csalog).

Olga also took master classes with Felix Renggly, Andras Adorian, Michael Koffler, Barthold Kuijken and Wilbert Haselzet..

She won the Russian National Flute Competition at the age of sixteen and went on to win the special prize at the International Flute Competition in Scheveningen in Holland and 2nd prize in the Early Music Ensemble Competition “Van Wassenaer” in Haag also in Holland.

Since 2004 Olga has performed as a soloist with Pratum Integrum, the only Russian orchestra comprising all the groups of historical instruments. From 1993-1999 Olga was solo flute with the Moscow Radio and Television Orchestra.

Olga’s career as a soloist has seen her in demand with ensembles and performers such as Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra, Yuri Bashmet; Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra, Vladimir Spivakov; Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Valery Gergiev; State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Yurovsky; Misica Viva chamber orchestra, Alexander Rudin; Perm opera theatre orchestra, Teodor Currentzis; Academy of early music, Tatiana Grindenko. Her recording career has seen her interpretations of works by Bach, Telemann, Tcherepnin etc.

Her work has seen her perform in major venues including theTchaikovsky Conservatoire Big Hall, Bolshoi Theatre and St. Peterburg Philarmonic, Regensburg Tage Alter Music, Beethoven festival Vienna, Tage Alter Musik in Herne WDR 3, Festival of Early Music in Utrecht, Baroque Evenings Festival in Croatia, Festival Van Vlaanderen Bruges.
