Dorien Schrooten
Dorien Schrooten (1983, Belgium) decided after completing the Music Academy in Genk to continue studying oboe at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp.
She took lessons with Luk Nielandt and in 2007 obtained the title of master of music together with her pedagogical diploma. After this she could start as an oboe and instrumental ensemble teacher in the 'Academy for Music and Word Maaseik', 'Academy for Music Theater and Dance Maasmechelen' and 'Academy for Music and Word Lanaken' where she tries to transfer the love for her instrument. on young oboists. She is one of the driving forces behind the wind ensemble Zuiderwind, an ensemble that, in addition to chamber music, also puts on stage music theater for young people.
