Eunjung Kim gorgeously appeared in percussion scene by winning the first place at the 3rd Korea Percussion Competition. Her playing is recognized not only delivering the delicate touch but also powerful and precise performance. She was soon invited from “Kumho Young Artist” for a recital and her exceptional understanding of music has provided continuous invitations. In year 2001, she was invited as a guest percussionist to play Vibraphone with Korea’s top five tenors at the Seoul Arts Center which is one of the biggest concert halls in Korea. Nevertheless to say, she has soon become one of the most invited percussionist with the collaborations such as the ‘POPS Orchestra’ with the Korean Symphony which was one of the popular projects planned by Seoul Arts Center, performed with the USP Orchestra, performed with four harpists for ‘Artist Lounge’ and it continues as we speak.
She graduated from the Korea National University of Arts majoring percussion, of course, and this experience not only gave the opportunity to learn variety of percussion instruments but also the importance of teaching techniques for performing those various percussion instruments to younger generation. This has given her the motivation to be active in teaching at not only at the universities but also at the high school and junior high schools. She teaches at her university, the Korea National University of Arts and currently is an adjunct professor at the Sahmyook University. Her enthusiastic passion for teaching cotinues for Sunhwa Arts High School, Seoul Arts High School, Yumkwang High School, Sunhwa Arts Junior High School and Yewon Junior High School.
It is amazing that she still has found her time to be a member of percussion at the Korean Symphony Orchestra while she is doing all those her recitals, the collaboration with various musicians, being a professor and teaches at all above schools.
This enthusiastic and passion for percussion just captured both Adams and Cosmos Corporation in Korea as the proud Adams Artist in the year 2020.
