The same great quality found in all Getzen Trumpets can also be found in the entire line of Getzen Cornets. The newly designed Custom Series Cornets utilize all the advancements of the Getzen ProShop. This dedication to quality has found its way into general production resulting in one of the best lines of cornets anywhere. From the 381 student model to the 3810 Custom Series, there's a Getzen model to match every player's style.
The same great valve sections found on all Getzen Trumpets can also be found on every Getzen Cornet. Hand lapped, nickel silver pistons mean that you will never be held back by the performance of your valves. As with the trumpet line, there are several options available on Getzen Cornets. Three different bell options on the Custom Series Cornets ensures each player can find the exact sound that he or she wants. If a freer blowing instrument is desired, the Eterna 800 is available in an optional large bore model. Add to this the ability to select between clear lacquer finish and silver plating and you can virtually build the exact cornet you want.
Professional Bb Cornets
Following the popularity of the Bb and C Custom Series Trumpets, a line of Custom Series Cornets have been designed for the professional musician.
Taking the popularity of the 850 Eterna Cornet and adding to it several innovative features, the 3850 Custom Series Cornet was created and has been a great addition to the Getzen line up. Based on that success the same process has now been done to the 810 C and 892 Eb Eterna Cornets and the results are the all new 3810 and 3892 Custom Series C and Eb Cornets.
All three models now feature one piece, hand hammered bells similar to those found on Custom Series Trumpets. The 3850 Bb, 3810 C, and 3892 Eb also feature nickel plated, nickel silver pistons and gold brass mouthpipe tubes. As with the trumpets, the Custom Series Cornets have options available that allow each player to build the exact cornet they want and need. This makes the Custom Series line of cornets perfect for soloists, brass bands, or orchestral performers.

Following the increased popularity of the 3850 Bb cornet with brass band players, the Custom Series line was expanded to offer an outstanding new Eb cornet.
The all new 3892 Custom Series Eb cornet is a perfect addition to the Custom Series line. It includes the same great features players have come to expect from Getzen professional small brass, such as nickel silver balusters and seamless or one piece bells. The 3892 comes standard with a 4 3/4" seamless copper bell similar to that found on the 3850 Bb. In addition, the 3892 offers a revolutionary new idea in tuning bit design. Each 3892 comes standard with two different tuning bit\leadpipe tubes. One tube provides a more traditional British Brass Band style of sound while the other offers a slightly brighter, more American sound. All of this together combines to make the ideal Eb cornet for every playing style or situation.
Getzen offers two high quality finish options. One is our specially formulated, baked epoxy lacquer that shows off the natural color of the instrument. The other is our signature silver plate with a brightness that is unmatched in the industry.
Not all finishes are offered on all models. Check individual model options to determine availability.
Clear lacquer is the most economical of all finish options. The durable finish protects the brass from tarnishing while allowing the natural beauty of the metals to shine through.
Bright Silver Plate
Bright silver plate is a very popular finish with most musicians. It provides a bright, uniform finish to the instrument while protecting the brass from tarnishing. Silver can become tarnished over time however and requires occasional cleaning or polishing to maintain its bright shine.
