A world-class artist is one that enjoys the status of being one of the best players in the world.
Adams Musical Instruments are the choice of world-class soloists, orchestras, composers, and educators alike because the craftsmanship, sound quality, and technical innovations are the highest quality specifications in the world making them truly world-class instruments. It only makes perfect sense then that soloists such as Robert Van Sice, Evelyn Glennie, Bogdan Bacanu, Peter Sadlo, Emmanuel Sejourne, Martin Grubinger. Orchestral players, Marinus Komst, Nick Woud, Tom Freer, Tim Adams and composers Emmanuel Sejourne and James Wood, choose Adams instruments to make the highest quality music.

Adams is proud to have honored special requests from players and has assisted them with the realization of their compositions and performances. Co-operation with artists such as James Wood and Robert Van Sice has led to the development of the Adams Quarter Tone Marimba, Quarter Tone Glockenspiel, and Quarter Tone Vibraphone. At the request of Alex Jacobowitz, Adams worked to create a five octave marimba with a special pedal dampening system adding to the sound possibilities of the instrument. At Adams, it is this commitment to the highest quality instruments and to the music and sound that they are built to produce that makes them the choice of the world’s professionals.

Many players and orchestras choose Adams Musical Instruments and Adams respects all of these relationships. Although only a few have been mentioned in the preceding passage, a complete list of Adams artists can be found here.

André Adams, our founder, started repairing brass instruments in 1971. He gained experience as an instrument maker with various well-known firms throughout Europe. Music was his hobby, engineering his passion. It was a combination that was one day to lead to the emergence of one of the world’s largest manufacturer of percussion instruments. As a result of the partnership with professional and amateur musicians, many musical improvements have been introduced over the years. On a scientific front, cooperation with various universities has given rise to many innovations. This scientific knowledge has played a significant role in maintaining continuity in instrument production. After all, musical instruments are made up of various parts, all of which play an important part in the instrument’s final sound. The frame of a timpani is just as important as the kettle itself. Coordination between the two – and the resulting sound reproduction – must be perfect. Over the years, we have continued to develop all these facets, which today form a vital part of our business whose vision and passion is music – by musicians, for musicians.

The fact that Adams, worldwide, enjoys this huge reputation cannot be attributed to hard work, determination and constant innovation alone. You, the client and player, have been a part in this process too.

After all, it is the individual wishes of the customer which provide us with the inspiration to adapt and perfect our range of instruments and to continue to break new ground.

We would like to convey our heartfelt thanks for your cooperation and hope that we may share our passion for many years… Music!
