Henrik Svitzer

Henrik Svitzer is Flute Professor at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music and leader and founder of the DKDM flute ensemble. He is also Director of the Edition Svitzer publishing house and president of the Danish flute society.

Henrik Svitzer belongs to the French©\American flute school and is one of the well©\known Scandinavian flutists and teachers. He studied at the Royal Danish Conservatory of music with Prof. Poul Birkelund and later in USA with Marcel Moyse, Thomas Nyfinger, Julius Baker (New York Philharmonic Orchestra) and Maxence Larrieu in France.
He had further studies with solo flutist Andreas Blau (Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra).
Henrik Svitzer is former solo flutist at the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and at the Royal Danish Orchestra.
He has served as a Creative Associate at the Center for Creative and Performing Arts at the State University of New York and had his debut at Carnegie Hall in 1986. He has received many prizes from international competitions which led to a celebrated international soloist career. Henrik Svitzer has recorded many CD¡¯s, radio and TV programs in Japan, USA and Europe while giving many master classes worldwide and serving as a jury member of many national and internationals flute competitions.
He is currently the director of the publishing house Edition Svitzer and also a project leader of ¡°musical dialogue Ukraine - Denmark.¡±
He is President for the Danish Flute Society and a well appreciatied publisher of flute exercise books and flute arrangements, and is often a guest flute player and quest lecturer holder at many international flute festivals world wide.
